Age of War is a war strategy game developed by Louissi and released on October 15, 2007. It is followed by Age of War 2.

Although Flash was discontinued on January 12 2021, Age of War is still playable through BlueMaxima’s Flashpoint and a free mobile app is also available. Many host websites also now offer emulation.

The game is also known for it's soundtrack, Glorious Morning, by WaterFlame.

Gameplay[]

In Age of War, the player controls an army that begins in the stone age and can evolve all the way into the future. The main objective of the game is to destroy the opposing army’s base which can be done if the player gets their units close enough to the enemy base to attack it. As the player kills enemy units with their own, they will gain XP and coins. Coins are used to train each unit, by turrets and turret placements. Turrets are well worth purchasing in the game as they will defend the player’s base from a long distance and can give the player time to collect enough money to train more units and launch a counter attack on the enemy.

XP is purely used for evolving the player’s army and base into the next age, with the XP required to progress to each era increasing exponentially. Although it is common for the battle between the two armies to wage all the way into the future, the game can end in any era depending on when a base is destroyed. The player also has a “special” attack that does not cost any coins or XP but can only be used occasionally and needs to recharge. These attacks usually consist of a form of airstrike that lays waste to any enemy units on the battlefield.
