Amorphous is a top-down combat game developed by Innoculous Games. It entails a nameless swordsman fighting against an army of gelatinous monsters known as Glooples.
This game also has a remastered version called Amorphous+, which has achievements and unlockable power-ups in addition to all the content found in the original Amorphous.
During gameplay, you are placed in a field with your very own swordsman character to control. The swordsman can perform melee attacks which cover a broad range but render him immobile for a split second. Glooples, the game's enemies, will constantly enter the screen; depending on which game mode you're playing, you will be required to either kill a certain number of Glooples or just survive for as long as you can. There are many different types of Glooples, each with their own unique abilities; normally, only the most basic Glooples spawn at the beginning of the game, but over time more and more powerful Gloople types will start showing up. Not every Gloople is capable of killing you on contact, but most can; if you manage to get killed by a Gloople (or some other hazard), you die and the game is lost.
Game Modes[]
Practice: This mode lets you fight against any of the Gloople variants that you've already discovered.
Single Nest: This mode has you fight off a finite nest of Glooples; defeat the required amount of Glooples to win.
Small Nest: Defeat 200 Glooples to win.
Big Nest: Defeat 350 Glooples to win.
Huge Nest: Defeat 500 Glooples to win.
Bounty Run: This is the game's endless mode; you can choose how quickly the difficulty ramps up before starting this mode (available options are Slow, Medium, and Fast).
Difficulty Modifiers[]
Hardcore Mode: This difficulty modifier is unlocked after winning a game in Single Nest mode. Toggling it makes it so that any type of Gloople can appear at any time, as opposed to the game gradually introducing stronger variants over time.
Enemies[]
Green Gloople: The most basic type of Gloople. It moves in a straight line and simply staggers you for a few moments if you touch it. If two Green Glooples collide with each other, there's a small chance they'll fuse together and become an Oozle.
Stickie: A Gloople whose body is filled with glue. If it collides with another enemy or is killed, it creates a lingering puddle of glue that temporarily makes you move slower if you touch it, but also protects you from catching on fire or being frozen. The glue puddle also affects low-level Glooples.
Biter: An aggressive Gloople that has a set of teeth. It chases after you and attacks by lunging at you; if it hits you while lunging, you die. However, it can't attack if it's covered in Stickie glue. If two Biters collide, there's a small chance they'll fuse together and become a Horror.
Meltie: A slightly more aggressive cousin of the Stickie whose body is filled with acid. It loosely chases you and creates a lingering puddle of acid if it collides with another enemy or is killed. The acid kills you and most Gloople types on contact.
Sharp: A shapeshifting Gloople that turns itself into a spiky ball and chases after you whenever it detects a threat (i.e. you, another Gloople, or a hazardous puddle) in front of it. It's indestructible when in its spiky ball form, and returns to its regular form when there isn't anything in front of it anymore.
Clutter: An evasive Gloople that chases you but keeps its distance. It attacks by spitting Baby Clutters at you; if you get hit by a Baby Clutter, it'll stick to you and slow down your movement speed - get hit by too many Baby Clutters and you'll eventually be completely immobilizied. Baby Clutters stuck to you can be shaken off by spinning around quickly. When you kill a Clutter, it'll spawn anywhere from one to three Baby Clutters, which will roam around the screen and slowly grow over time, eventually becoming regular Clutters if not killed.
Inkie: Another more aggressive cousin of the Stickie, whose body is filled with oil. It aggressively chases after you and explodes on contact with anything else or if killed. If it collides with you, you get blinded and the screen goes black for several seconds. If it collides with another Gloople or is killed, it creates a lingering puddle of oil that makes anything that steps in it slide around. Inkies and their oil puddles are flammable - if an Inkie touches fire, it explodes; if an oil puddle is ignited, it sets ablaze and sets you and most types of Glooples on fire if touched.
Grinder: A giant Gloople that loosely chases you and is covered in stony armor, making it indestructible, but the armor can be broken off by getting a Grinder to run into another Grinder or certain other hazards. Once the armor is broken, it takes five hits to kill a Grinder.
Fuzzle: A more advanced Biter which is even more aggressive and has a thick coat of fur. Its lunge attacks cover a longer distance, and its fur acts as armor. The fur takes two hits to remove, and it also protects the Fuzzle from being instantly killed by certain hazards. Once its fur is gone, the Fuzzle becomes scared and tries to stay away from you, but will eventually regrows its fur if not killed. Just like a Biter, the Fuzzle can't attack if it's covered in Stickie glue.
Oozle: A larger, more powerful Green Gloople that chases after you and takes three hits to kill, but moves slowly. It can absorb you on contact, killing you. If an Oozle collides with a Green Gloople, there's a small chance they'll fuse together and become a Gray.
Torchie: A fire-based Gloople that chases after you and ignites itself almost immediately after spawning. While on fire, it leaves behind a trail of tiny flames (which can be extinguished by stepping on them), and it'll set you on fire if you touch it. It also explodes if you kill it while it's on fire. Most Glooples also catch on fire if they touch a Torchie or its flame trail, and you can be set on fire if you touch a burning Gloople. If you catch on fire, you have a few seconds to put yourself out (with Stickie glue or Frostie ice) before you die. Eventually, the Torchie's flame goes out and it can't relight itself, but can be reignited by another Torchie or its flame trail.
Frostie: An ice-based Gloople that moves quickly and chases after you. It releases an icy blast if killed, freezing anything within range. If you get frozen, you can thaw yourself out faster by moving the mouse around quickly.
Gray: A powerful Gloople that is mostly the same as an Oozle, but has a couple extra abilities. It can turn into a ball of steel whenever you try to attack it, effectively making it impossible to attack a Gray under most circumstances. It can also shoot out a tentacle lance in your direction to try and impale you and pull you towards it. When using its tentacle lance attack, it becomes vulnerable for a couple seconds, giving you a small opening to attack it. If a Gray collides with a Green Gloople, there's a small chance they'll fuse together and become a Void Eater.
Amalgam: A gluttonous Gloople that absorbs anything in its path, but can only absorb things that are the same size as or smaller than it. It gets a little bigger every time it absorbs something. Thus, depending on the size, an Analgam can take many hits to kill. Big Amalgams tend to split into smaller Amalgams when attacked.
Horror: A huge, spiky Gloople that constantly chases after you, trying to cut you up with the spinning spikes on its body. It can shoot volleys of spikes in eight directions as it chases you; if one of these spikes hits a low-level Gloople, that Gloople will turn into a Biter. Occasionally, the Horror will divide its body and send four spiky disks flying around the screen for a little bit while the Horror's core remains stationary; this is the only time when you can kill the Horror by attacking its core before it reforms itself.
Void Eater: An extremely powerful Gloople that has the power to bend gravity, and can use two different gravity-based attacks. For the first attack, it turns itself into a gravity well, sucking everything onscreen towards it; as soon as something gets sucked into the gravity well, it releases a shockwave that kills everything in range. For the second attack, it fires a density beam - a laser beam with a gravitational pull that disintegrates anything that touches it.
Queen: A boss-level Gloople that only appears rarely. She has two giant blades for arms and will try to kill you using melee attacks and lunging attacks; she also tries to dodge your sword whenever you attack, making it very hard to kill her. She also constantly spawns Queen Larvae which can't hurt you directly and can be killed simply by stepping on them, but will try to fuse themselves with another Gloople so that they can turn into a new Queen if the original one is killed.
Razor Queen: A much stronger version of a Queen that is insanely powerful. She takes five hits to kill instead of one, has five blades on her body (four blade arms and one blade tail), and has some other dangerous attacks. She can shoot giant spikes at you, lob giant spiky balls at you, and spawn Razor Mites which can tunnel underground and emerge to chase after you. The Razor Queen is essentially a secret boss; she'll never spawn in a game until you've discovered every other type of Gloople first.

Rewards (Amorphous+ Only)[]
Rewards are another feature introduced in Amorphous+. These are unlockable items that give you an edge over the Glooples in various ways. Unlocking them requires Reward Keys; you earn one Reward Key for every 10 Awards you earn, thus allowing you to unlock one Reward of your choosing.
Once you start unlocking Rewards, you can choose which one(s) to bring into the game. Initially, you can only choose one, but you unlock a second Reward slot after earning 55 Awards, and then you unlock a third slot after earning all 110 Awards.

Inhibitor: Heavily reduces the rate at which Glooples spawn in the game for 20 seconds.
Hazard Suit: Protects you from passive hazards (glue, acid, oil, etc.), but breaks apart once its charge gauge runs out.
Saw Drone: A flying robot with razor blades on its body, which flies around the screen and kills Glooples for you. It can also kill you on contact, but it always tries its best to avoid running into you.
Instant Wall: An explosive device that instantly generates a huge brick wall that blocks Gloople attacks.
Repulsor: Emits a signal that covers a small radius, pushing away any Gloople that gets too close.
Box Gun: An automatic turret that shoots at Glooples once placed. If it shoots a hard target, the bullet will bounce off, possibly killing you if you're not careful.
Teleporter: Teleports you to a less crowded part of the screen.
Reactive Armor: Self-destructs if you get hit by a deadly impact (Biter/Fuzzle attack, Queen/Razor Queen's melee attacks, etc), killing all nearby Glooples.
Razor Glaive: Unlocked by killing a Razor Queen. It can cut through hard things (Grinders, Sharps in their spiky form, etc.) that your normal blade can't.
