Bloons Tower Defense 2 (also called Bloons Tower Defense 2 or BTD2) is the sequel to Bloons Tower Defense. It's the second tower defense game in the Bloons series and was released in 2007, the same year as its predecessor. BTD2 reprises the premise of using towers to stop Bloons from reaching the exit, but adds some new features such as multiple difficulty levels and tracks that would become mainstay features in later BTD games.

Gameplay[]

The game takes place on one of three different tracks, depending on which one you choose at the start of the game - each one represents a different difficulty level. You start out with $650 and a set number of lives, and must use that money along with the money earned from popping Bloons to set up a solid defense using the different tower types in your arsenal in order to beat all 50 rounds. Each tower type has its own method of attack, and can be upgraded to increase its lethality against the Bloons. Most Bloons can be popped with relative ease, but certain Bloons can resist some types of attacks from your towers.

Tracks[]

  • Easy Track: A twisty ice path located high in the sky. The twists and turns provide plenty of good spots to place your towers where they can attack the Bloons as often as possible. You start with 100 lives on this track.
  • Medium Track: A stone path in a grass field that is similar to the Easy Track, but is slightly shorter. You start with 75 lives on this track.
  • Hard Track: A track set in a desert which actually consists of two different paths that intersect. You start with 50 lives on this track.

Towers[]

  • Dart Monkey: A normal monkey that throws darts at Bloons. Each dart pops one Bloon. Costs $250 to place.
  • Tack Shooter: A machine that shoots tacks in eight directions. Costs $340 to place.
  • Ice Ball: A magic ball of ice that periodically unleashes blasts of frost, freezing any Bloon caught in its range. Costs $385 to place.
  • Cannon: Shoots bombs at Bloons, creating explosions that damage any Bloon caught in the blast. Costs $520 to place.
  • Boomerang Thrower: A monkey that throws boomerangs which follow a curved path back to the Boomerang Thrower. Each boomerang can hit up to two Bloons at a time. Costs $475 to place.
  • Super Monkey: A superhero monkey who throws darts at an incredibly fast rate. Costs $3,600 to place.

Track Items[]

  • Road Spikes: A pile of spikes that can be placed on the track to pop Bloons on contact. Each pile has 10 spikes, and one spike is used up every time a Bloon touches the pile. Can be used for free.
  • Monkey Glue: A blob of glue that can be placed on the track to slow Bloons down on contact. Each blob can slow down 20 Bloons before disappearing. Can be used for free.
