Bloons Tower Defense 3 (also called Bloons Tower Defense 3 or BTD3) is the sequel to Bloons Tower Defense 2. It's the third tower defense game in the Bloons series and was released in September 2008. In addition to reprising all the features seen in BTD2, BTD3 has more content including new towers, new Bloons, and eight new tracks that can be selected independently of the difficulty level.

Gameplay[]

The game is played on one of eight different tracks that you can choose at the start of the game; after choosing a track, you get to choose the desired difficulty level and then the game begins. You start out with $650 and a set number of lives depending on the difficulty level, and must use that money along with the money earned from popping Bloons to set up a solid defense using the different tower types in your arsenal in order to beat all 50 rounds - after beating the 50th round, you have the option to either return to the main menu or keep playing in Free Play mode to see how far you can get. Each tower type has its own method of attack, and can be upgraded to increase its lethality against the Bloons. Some Bloons can be popped with relative ease, but others can resist some types of attacks from your towers.

Difficulties[]

  • Easy: You start with 100 lives, all towers and upgrades are cheaper than normal, and all Bloons move at their normal speeds. Beating a track on this difficulty earns you a Bronze Medal for that track.
  • Medium: You start with 75 lives, all towers and upgrades have their normal prices, and all Bloons move faster than normal. Beating a track on this difficulty earns you a Silver Medal for that track.
  • Hard: You start with 50 lives, all towers and upgrades are more expensive than normal, and all Bloons move even faster than normal. Beating a track on this difficulty earns you a Gold Medal for that track.

Tracks[]

  • Grass Track (Track #1): A grassy field featuring a dirt path with lots of twists and turns where you can strategically place towers.
  • Dirt Track (Track #2): A dirt field featuring a partially built road that's currently under construction - it has a few gaps, but the Bloons will simply fly over them as they follow the road to the exit. This track is similar to the Grass Track but doesn't have as many twists.
  • Techno Track (Track #3): A track set in some high-tech area. It has many sharp 90-degree turns.
  • Ice Track (Track #4): A track consisting of two twisty rivers running through a snowy area.
  • Candy Track (Track #5): A track set in a candy wonderland, featuring a frosting path arranged in the shape of a monkey.
  • Lava Track (Track #6): A volcanic wasteland with a track that starts as three paths which merge into one in the middle.
  • Circuit Track (Track #7): A track set on top of a circuit board, featuring a circular path around the board.
  • Factory Track (Track #8): An industrial factory area with several conveyor belt paths that intersect at various points.
