Gameplay[]
In Boxhead, the player must navigate through a city of zombies and lead civilians to an evacuation zone. The player can shoot zombies to defend themselves and civilians and is rewarded with more powerful weapons as they progress through the levels.
Civilians can be easily identified by their blue clothing whereas all zombies wear white. The player can find the evacuation zone in each level by following the expanding red circle on their radar to its centre. Although the player starts with a pistol that has infinite ammo, they are awarded with an UZI on level 2, a shotgun at level 4 and grenades at level 6, all of which have limited ammo. Extra ammo can be found in small boxes around the city.
Boxhead gameplay
All of the levels take place within the same city and begin as soon as all of the civilians from the previous level have been evacuated and there is a time limit that the player must save the level’s civilians within. If the player is killed by zombies, they will be returned to the spawn point and will remain on the same level they died on rather than starting from the beginning.
Dying can make the game easier since the spawn point is not far from the evacuation point and due to the fact that when the player respawns, their timer is reset to 5 minutes which is more than enough time to make it to the evacuation point and also because when respawning, the player will be automatically approached by all of the civilians they need to rescue.
