Frontier is an rpg open world flash game that was made by John on Armor Games.
Gameplay[]
Create your own fortune. Travel the land seeking to destroy the Buccaneers, an evil pirate organization bent on being outlaws... or join the Enforcers to help stop them and bring piece to the land! You decide, you build your fate, and in the end you choose the path you want to take and how to get there.
Frontier is a non-traditional RPG, taking mostly the form of an economics game... but in the sense that you're not set on a linear path to go destroy certain enemies or collect items. Your job is to survive, earn money, and do as you please. Destroy the Buccaneers or take down an entire city for your taking. Join the Enforcers and battle it out with some mercenaries to become true evil.
50 different cities beckon your trade and visit, each located in 10 unique environments and place. Each offers new financial opportunity or guild headquarters to find more purpose in your worldly pursuit.
Items[]
Items are things in game that either give you a boost in attack, defense, or just make your character look better. Pants, Shirts, and Helmets do not affect your stats, only Armour does. They are:

Stats[]
Stats allow you to become stronger, be more defensive, allow you to avoid trouble, and buy more for less. You initially get 6 stat points to allocate into either Travel, defense, attack or trade. Your damage stat also affects how much damage you deal with any weapon. Your defense stat affects how much defense you receive from an item. It is recommended to have only stat points allocated to attack and defense, preferably balanced in both, as travel and trade become useless when you have tons of money and your party is very powerful.
Guilds[]
Guilds are factions you come across when you go to the Guilds tab. There are two guilds: Enforcers and Buccaneers, They both hate each other, and have different quest paths. Enforcers can only become a problem to you if your reputation is too low, you attack them or if you are carrying black market items. Buccaneers are always a problem, whether that be for the buccaneer guild reputation because killing buccaneers gives you positive reputation instead of negative reputation, or that they cannot be avoided and you always have to fight them (Unless you surrender or flee).
Guilds | Description | Difficulty | Guild Images |
---|---|---|---|
Enforcers | The Enforcers are pure lawful units. They work to destroy evil-doers who prey upon mercenaries and locals. Policing all the land is what they do best and enforcing law and helping others is their ultimate duty. | Hard Quests | |
Buccaneers | Buccaneers answer only to their own organization. Working against the Enforcers and freely moving across the land to gain the riches they desire. Rules are not to be followed, only broken. | Easy Quests. |
Vessels[]
Vessels are vehicles you can ride in Frontier. Each one costs different market goods, has different max capacity for market goods and max party members. The first Vessel you have at the start of the game is on-foot, which means you walk everywhere. Each vessel also has a range of which cities it can visit and the travel distance.
There is a way to get the final vessel in the game: Vanguard, early. You must find a good trade path between cities and make enough money to buy the resources required for the vessel. Depending on how much people are willing to buy the market good your selling and how much your market good will cost you, you can buy this vehicle pretty early or later, but early.
Vessels | Max Capacity | Max Party Members | Cost | Description | Vessel Images |
---|---|---|---|---|---|
On-Foot | 30 | 1 | Free | Foot Travel is the way many people start. You cannot carry much, which is a hassle. The travel distance is 2 days per trip. | |
Horseback | 40 | 1 | 5 Iron | A horse gets you where you want faster, and carries slightly more than foot travel. The travel distance is 2 days per trip. | |
Cart | 50 | 2 | 7 Iron, 1 Silver | Adding a pullcart to the horse, it allows a much larger cargo load. The travel distance is the same as the horse, at 3 days per trip. You may also carry additional party members. | |
Wagon | 75 | 2 | 9 Iron, 3 Timber, 2 Silver. | The Wagon is much larger than the cart, and is more heavily armored to protect the party. The travel distance is 3 days per trip. | |
Covered Wagon | 90 | 3 | 10 Cloth, 12 Iron, 3 Silver. | The covered wagon provides more armor than the normal wagon, and has a larger capacity. The travel distance is 4 days per trip. | |
Medieval Tank | 100 | 4 | 15 Iron, 6 silver, 10 cloth | The medieval tank is a slow moving vehicle made of iron and timber, and has an extremely high defense. It can roll between towns at 3 days per trip. | |
Vanguard | 150 | 5 | 1 Diamonds, 10 Cloth. | The Vanguard is a landship capable of sailing the winds on lands, or be pulled by horses when the winds die down. It is heavily armored, and can travel between towns at 5 days per trip. |
