Mighty Knight 2

Mighty Knight 2 is a fighting game and a sequel to Mighty Knight, developed by Firebeast and published by Y8Games. Much like the original game, Mighty Knight 2 has you control a party of medieval heroes and traverse dangerous lands to put an end to the evil forces threatening the kingdom, but with some improvements over the prequel.

Controls[]

  • WASD or Arrow Keys: Move
  • J: Attack
  • K or L: Use special skill
  • Space Bar: Switch character
  • P: Pause

Gameplay[]

Just like the first Mighty Knight, Mighty Knight 2 has a series of levels (25 in total, five for each of the game's five worlds) where the goal is to eliminate all enemies. Unlike in Mighty Knight 1, each level is broken up into several waves of enemies as opposed to simply having all the enemies gradually enter the battlefield until none are left. Once a level is beaten, you earn XP for every enemy you killed; XP is used to buy skill points to upgrade your characters' stats and skills with. You can also hit enemies multiple times in quick succession to rack up combos; killing enemies while having a high combo earns you even more XP. Additionally, friendly spirits called Netherghosts will occasionally show up; if you run into one, it'll give you a supportive item (usually a healing potion or temporary stat buff).

The biggest change Mighty Knight 2 has from its predecessor is that instead of controlling one character and unlocking the rest as computer-controlled companions, each character you unlock in this game is playable, and you can still select other characters to be your companions in battle - each level lets you bring in a total of four characters at a time, allowing you to build unique teams using any of the game's six characters.

Characters[]

When you first start the game, a sorceress will appear before you and ask you a few questions. Depending on how you answer these questions, you'll unlock one of the game's six characters as your first playable character; all the others will be unlocked as you progress through the game.

  • Aragon Battleheart: A brave knight known for his durability. Has the highest defense out of all six characters.
    • Skill #1: Spirit Wave - Unleashes an energy wave that travels a moderate distance and cuts through any enemy it hits, dealing fairly heavy damage. Unlocked at XP level 5.

Using a combination of magic and physical prowess, Daimonas attacks by swinging at you with his sword and sending waves of fire surging across the floor, and can also summon enemies to assist him or teleport to dodge your attacks. Make sure to get rid of any enemies in the battle so they don't overwhelm you, and try to do as much damage to Daimonas as you can when he's not teleporting!

When his health starts to get low, he also gains a new attack where he teleports all over the room, slashing at you with his claws every time he pops up in a new spot. For best results, use a team consisting of a couple heavy hitters, such as Aragon or Conan, coupled with Varrick with his ability to immobilize Monstrodaimonas with his binding traps.

Trivia[]

  • All three Warlock type enemies are similar in appearance to the Tribal Warlord enemy. It could be that the Warlocks were once Tribal Warlords who discovered the dark arts and began practicing them.
  • The Voodoo Man enemy carries a staff which has a skull with a blue arrow atop its head. This is a reference to Aang from Avatar: The Last Airbender, who sports a similar arrow on top of his own head.
