Newgrounds Flash Player, also known as The Newgrounds Player, is a piece of software developed by Newgrounds and released on August 4, 2019.
Purpose[]
The Newgrounds Flash Player was developed after the announcement was made that all browsers would stop supporting flash in January of 2021. It was created in order to preserve all flash dependant media on the Newgrounds website, allowing all flash games and animations on the website to be playable and watchable after the support of flash ended.
Unlike the preservation project BlueMaxima's Flashpoint, The Newgrounds Flash Player is not a launcher. Once installed, you will still play and view flash related media on the Newgrounds website, but instead of the browser using flash to display the media, The Newgrounds Player will support it instead.
