Questopia is a dungeon crawler game where you play as an ambitious explorer venturing into an ancient pyramid full of mummies and other monsters to try and find a legendary treasure.

Controls[]

  • WASD or Arrow Keys: Move
  • Mouse: Attack, pick up and equip items
  • Space Bar: Turn on/off auto attack
  • Number Keys 1-6: Use consumable items

Gameplay[]

Questopia consists of 21 levels, each one being a randomly generated dungeon floor where your goal is to find the exit leading to the next level.  Each level is packed with enemies which gradually become stronger the further you progress in the game.  You can also find loot in each level, either from breakable urns or dropped from defeated enemies; the loot can contain things such as consumable items, equipment, magic spells, and other things you can use to become stronger.  Additionally, you can also gain XP by killing enemies or by sacrificing certain types of equipment; gain enough XP and you'll level up, which then rewards you with three stat points you can use to improve your stats.  The ultimate goal of the game is to reach the 21st floor, defeat the final boss, and acquire the pyramid's treasure.  If you run out of health, you lose the game and have to start at the beginning of the level where you died.

Levels and Zones[]

  • Pyramid Zone (Levels 1-5): The pyramid's uppermost region.  Enemies here are pretty weak and the loot in these levels is low-tier.
  • Underground Zone (Levels 6-10): A dungeon area deeper down the pyramid's bowels.  Contains slightly stronger enemies and somewhat better loot.
  • Infernal Zone (Levels 11-15): A fiery area situated much deeper within the pyramid's confines.  The levels in this zone contain strong enemies and plenty of mid- and high-tier loot.
  • Ancient Zone (Levels 16-21): The deepest section of the pyramid, populated by very powerful enemies and packed with most of the game's best loot.  This zone has an extra level which consists of a battle with the final boss.

Enemies[]

  • Fly: Very weak flying bug that chases after you and attacks by shooting tiny projectiles when it's close enough to you.  Only dangerous in large numbers.
  • Skeleton: Weak enemy that slowly chases after you and uses close-ranged melee attacks when it catches up to you.
  • Warrior: Stronger enemy that behaves similarly to a Skeleton, but moves more quickly and constantly uses mid-ranged melee attacks even when you aren't in range of his attacks.  Warriors come in many varieties including orcs, elves, dark elves, and demons, and they drop the greatest variety of loot.
  • Mummy: Slow-moving but powerful enemy that chases after you and attacks by shooting large projectiles and spawning Flies when he's close enough to you.  Also spawns a Fly when killed.
  • Sarcophagus: Immobile but very powerful enemy that alternates between shooting projectiles at you and releasing rings of projectiles.  Also spawns a Mummy when killed.
  • Guardian: Extremely powerful undead warrior that acts as a miniboss; you only encounter one in every fifth level of the game.  Constantly uses mid-ranged melee attacks and sometimes releases huge spirals of projectiles.
  • Ancient God: Final boss of the game, encountered in Level 21.  He has three phases.
    • Ancient Sarcophagus: The Ancient God's first phase.  It's immobile just like a regular Sarcophagus, but it perpetually fires huge spirals of projectiles and also sometimes shoots a projectile aimed at you.
    • Ancient Mummy: The Ancient God's second phase.  He slowly chases after you while shooting projectiles at you, periodically releasing bursts of energy that damage at close range, and constantly spawning Flies.
    • Ancient Skeleton: The Ancient God's final phase.  He chases you at a slightly faster speed and shoots volleys of projectiles at you.
