The Earl Octopusor is a point and click puzzle adventure game developed by French developer Jo99 with music and sound design by Kronsilds. It was released on April 16, 2014.
The plot follows Miss Libellule and her treasure-hunting crew who have recently received a letter calling for help. In it, a sailor tells of how he and his mermaid lover have been kidnapped by a giant octopus, claiming that there will be a great treasure waiting for whoever choose to save them. Naturally, the treasure hunters accept the request and begin their adventure.
Walkthrough[]
You start on a screen with a sunken boat to your left and a cave to your right.
Outside the Cave[]
- Zoom in on the boat.
Outside the Boat[]
- Click on the entryway to enter the boat.
Inside the Boat[]
- Pick up the blue sailor's cap from the ground.
- Zoom in on the grey cabinet on the left.
- Pick up the fishing net from the ground.
- Open the cabinet and get the green brush.
- Zoom out from the cabinet, then focus on the middle drawer on the right.
- Open the drawer. Get the compass and the right half of the green amulet.
- Zoom out and open the top drawer.
- Drag the lobster away and pick up the left half of the green amulet.
- Leave the boat entirely and return to where you started.
Outside the Cave[]
- Enter the cave to your right.
The Cave Entrance[]
- Zoom in on the little device to the right of the door.
- Rotate the pieces of the picture so that they fit.
- Turn the wheel and enter the door.
Inside the Cave[]
- Zoom in on the left chamber and remember the three symbols on the picture above.
- Back out, and zoom in on the middle chamber.
- Enter the three symbols and pull the lever.
- Get the statue.
- Back out and enter the left chamber again.
- Put the statue on the pedestal to the left.
- Move the mouse over the face, and remember the color of the eyes.
- Back out and enter the right chamber, the one with the fish.
- Enter the right color combination in the two circles and rotate the wheel.
- Enter the door and watch the cutscene.
The Pool[]
- Turn around
The Lamp Chamber[]
- Zoom in on the chest in the lower right part of the screen.
- Click on the robot and grab the green key inside it.
- Back out and turn around.
The Pool[]
- Unlock the chamber to the right with the green key and enter.
The Workshop[]
- Zoom in on the bench to the right.
- Grab the fish amulet.
- Push the white button, and remember the lights that flash to your right.
- Zoom out.
- Zoom in on the chest on the left.
- Enter the color code.
- Get the small cogwheel.
- Back out to the pool.
The Pool[]
- Dive into the pool.
The Blue Chamber[]
- Pick up the big cogwheel in the upper right part of the screen.
- Move the mouse over the painting in the lower right and remember the colors.
- Zoom in on the prison cell.
The Entrance to the Prison Cell[]
- Click on the compass in your inventory.
- Open it and get the middle piece of the green amulet.
- Put all pieces together as shown by the compass.
- Put the completed amulet inside the lock.
- Enter the prison cell.
The Prison Cell[]
- Zoom in the mechanism to the right.
- Use the brush on it and move the mouse over the gems. Remember the code.
- Pull the lever, zoom out, and collect the six jewels. The red one will be swallowed by a fish.
- Back out of the prison.
The Entrance to the Prison Cell[]
- Catch the yellow fish with the fishing net.
- Open its mouth and get the red jewel.
- Back out twice, swim up to the pool, and turn around.
The Lamp Chamber[]
- Zoom in on the chest in the lower right part of the screen.
- Insert the fish amulet and get the eye amulet.
- Take the fish amulet back.
- Back out, zoom in on the door, and insert the eye amulet.
The Lair of the Earl Octopusor[]
- Zoom in on the left part of the lair.
- Zoom in once again on the red treasure chest to the left of the mermaid.
- Insert the fish amulet and get the rhombus stone.
- Back out twice and zoom in on the right part of the lair.
- Zoom in on the stone statue of a man riding two seahorses on the left.
- Insert the rhombus stone in the lock to the right.
- Zoom in on the destroyed sphere and get the pink octopus stone.
- Move the mouse over the fish painting on your left and remember the colors.
- Back out twice and zoom in on the throne.
- Zoom in on the statue on the left and pick up the handle.
- Back out three times and zoom in on the left part again.
- Zoom in on the painting.
- Insert the pink octopus stone and get the red key.
- Back out three times.
The Lamp Chamber[]
- Put the big cogwheel, the little cogwheel, and the handle together.
- Put the finished device in the pillar to the left of the door.
- Zoom in on the old man.
- Give him the blue cap and get the note in his hand. (328)
- Back out all the way to the starting screen and zoom in on the boat.
Outside the Boat[]
- Zoom in on the safe to the left.
- Input the code from the note.
- Get a flask.
- Return to the old man.
The Lamp Chamber[]
- Give the bottle to the old man.
- Unlock the treasure chest with the red key.
- Get the triangle stone.
- Move the mouse over the fish painting to the right and remember the colors.
- Back out and enter the lair of the Earl Octopusor.
The Lair of the Earl Octopusor[]
- Zoom in on the right part of the lair.
- Click on the fish statue.
- Input the three codes from the fish paintings, turn the wheels, and get the three keystones.
- Zoom out once, then zoom in on the throne.
- Enter all of the keystones and the triangle stone in the slots on the left and right sides.
- Zoom out.
- Zoom in on the treasure.
- Insert the jewels as seen in the prison cell.
