The Kitten Game is a game in the Epic Battle Fantasy series. It's an arcade game where your goal is to kill enough cats within the time limit to beat each of the game's levels.
Controls[]
- Mouse: Click to kill cats/destroy stuff
Gameplay[]
The Kitten Game consists of 30 levels wherein the objective is to kill a certain number of cats by clicking on them as they roam around the screen before time expires. As you progress through the game, the time limit gets shorter and the number of kills needed to win gets bigger. When you beat a level, you get a trophy that comes in either a bronze, silver, or gold variety depending on how many cats you killed, and then advance to the next level; otherwise, if you fail a level, you have the option to either try the level again or quit to the main menu.
In terms of killing power, there are three areas on the cats you can click on to kill them: their heads, their necks, and their tails. Whenever you click on one of these areas, you earn one point; thus, it's possible to earn a maximum of three points per cat if you can click on all three of their weak spots before their corpses disappear from the screen. Do note that the cats aren't completely defenseless, though; if you hover your cursor over a cat for too long, it'll try to run and hide from you in the level's scenery. If that happens, you can click on the scenery to destroy it, flushing out any cats that might be trying to hide.
Aside from the main game, The Kitten Game also has a practice mode which is identical to the campaign but with no time limit, as well as a dress-up mode where you, obviously enough, dress up the cats.
Trivia[]
- Although The Kitten Game predates most of the other Epic Battle Fantasy games and hardly has any relevance to the series, it does draw a few parallels to some other games:
- This is the game that introduced NoLegs, the legless cat who would go on to be the mascot of the RPGs that make up the main part of the Epic Battle Fantasy series.
- In Epic Battle Fantasy 4, the game's villain, Godcat, wants to destroy the world as we know it because she hates humanity, and it's hinted at that the events of this game are one of the reasons why she feels this way.
