Transylmania is a platformer game developed and published by Kaboose for the now-defunct sites Zeeks and Funschool. It has you play as a vampire named Vampy who has to get rid of a horde of villagers who have invaded his castle.

Controls[]

  • Left/Right: Move
  • Space Bar: Jump
  • Up: Fly

Gameplay[]

The game consists of six levels, which you must go through all at once in order to win. In each level, there are a number of villagers wandering around in various rooms; to beat the level, you have to kill all the villagers and then get to your coffin before the time runs out. Each level also features lots of hazards that must be avoided, or they'll drain your health. If you run out of health or time, the game is lost.

Hazards[]

  • Villager: The main enemies of the game; you must kill every villager before you can enter your coffin. Each villager carries a torch and walks back and forth (some can also appear floating in a small boat on top of water); to kill a villager, you have to run into him from above or behind to bite him and drain his blood. Running into a villager from the front will get you burned by his torch.
  • Fire: Open flames that appear all over the levels, usually in the form of hanging torches and candles.
  • Spike: Wooden spikes that protrude from walls, floors, and ceilings.
  • Sunny Window: Magic windows that sometimes open to shine deadly rays of sunshine directly below them.
  • Water: Sends you back to the start of the level if you fall into it. Some levels also have faucets that sometimes spray water.

Levels[]

  1. Sub Cellar: A short level that takes place deep within the castle cellar.
  2. Cellar Library: A longer level set in the main part of the cellar.
  3. Organ Donor: A level set in the castle's lounge room.
  4. Main Gate: A level that starts near the castle's entrance and extends into the moat just outside the castle walls.
  5. The Eastern Mill: A vertically-oriented level that takes place in an abandoned windmill near the castle.
  6. The Final Journey: An extra-long underground level that has you trekking through an underground canal that leads back to the castle.

Trivia[]

  • The gameplay and level design of Transylmania is similar to Evil Elves II, another game developed by Kaboose.
