History of Waterflame[]

Waterflame, aka Christian Krogsvold, was born in 1989 (Aged 34 Years). He started to make music in 2002 at age 13, initially uploading content to newgrounds in 2004 and through 2005 through the username Chainsaw_09 before expanding to other platforms such as Youtube and Spotify. His first song uploaded to newgrounds is a song called sunrise. In 2004, he made a total of 23 songs and in 2005, a total 16 songs. He gained much more attention on newgrounds in 2005 than 2004. His first song in 2005 was a song called homeworld uploaded to newgrounds, a type of alien techno with strange vocals according to his newgrounds author comment.

He has had his good years as well as his bad years with making music.

(Good Year) In 2006, Waterflame would make a lot less songs that the previous years, at a staggering 7 total. One of the songs however, space pirates, blew up with immense popularity, and as a result, made Christian Krogsvold change his newgrounds username from Chainsaw_09 to the now known Waterflame.

(Good Year) The next year of Waterflame's career (2007) can be described as the year that changed Waterflame's status by from decently known to very popular. During this year, Waterflame released 15 different songs, with one of them in particular giving him a massive boost in popularity and is still one of the most popular songs on Newgrounds, -Glorious Morning-. This song primarily became popular because it was used in the game Castle Crashers, which will become more relevant only a year later. This was also the year Waterflame made his own YouTube channel with the same name.

(Good Year) 2008 was another year of good success for Waterflame, with 21 different songs being released. One in particular, -Jumper-, was used in Castle Crashers, giving Waterflame an even bigger boost in popularity. Along with that, his other songs also did pretty well compared to the year prior.

(Good Year) In 2009, Waterflame released 12 more songs, with some of these being more vital in the later years for Waterflame. Overall, this year was a little more boring compared to the previous two years. However, the song -Time Machine- will become more relevant in the later years of his career. Waterflame also released his first album during this year, named Green.

(Decent Year) 2010 was a decent year for Waterflame, with all 12 songs released that year doing decently in popularity, but not going insanely high in popularity.

(Decent Year) 2011 was a lower-performing year compared to the years prior, although Waterflame did release 18 songs within that year. All songs performed around the same when it came to popularity.

(Good Year) In 2012, Waterflame released the most songs within one year so far, 48 songs in total. Some of the songs released within this year would build up to become a few of his biggest hits, -Clutterfunk- for example. He also made a new Album named Adventure. Not only that, however, he also entered the "Newgrounds Audio Deathmatch" (NGADM) 2012, an event for Audios on Newgrounds.

(Good Year) In 2013, Waterflame released a total of 21 songs and one of these was the sequel to his most popular song, -Glorious Morning-, -Glorious Morning 2-. This year was also the slow rise of a game that would change Waterflame's career forever. He also released a new Album by the name of Showdown.

His music is known for its unique sound in combining orchestra with electronic. He was one of the earliest composers on Newgrounds to build a significant fanbase and was active in the same period as other popular artists on the site such as ParagonX9, Dimrain47, and F-777. One of his earliest tracks "Glorious Morning" remains one of the highest viewed track in the all-time rankings on Newgrounds. Sussy Wussy Baka Nay Nay Drip

The next year, a game would appear that used Waterflame's songs that we now know as Geometry Dash. During 2014, the popularity of the 28 songs released that year and the ones prior, would go up by quite a huge margin. This year is infamously known as the year that Waterflame realized his potential on Newgrounds and YouTube.

(Good Year) 2015 was another eventful year for Waterflame. During 2015, Waterflame released 16 different songs, one being specifically made for the game that made him popular in the first place, Geometry Dash, -Geometrical Dominator-. The song was specifically made for the Version 2.0 update of Geometry Dash. He also hired his music publisher TuneCore, because he was starting to lose track of who was using his music fairly. Aside from these things, he also released his fourth Album named Community Favorites.

(Good Year) In 2016, Waterflame released another 16 songs, with one of them being specifically made for a Community Level in GD, -Striker-.

(Good Year) In the next year, his amount of songs dwindled down to 7 songs in one year. He also released his fifth Album, Surge, which is most likely why there were less song released that year.

(Bad Year) In 2018, Waterflame would release 20 different new songs, but these unfortunately were all left in the dark. Most of the songs were in the 10K and 20K downloads, astronomically lower than some of his other successes at 100K or more.

2019 was a similar year for Waterflame. He only released 9 songs during this year, with almost all of them performing around the same as 2018. However, one of the songs was a sequel to -Jumper-, one of his most popular songs, called -Jumper 2-.

(Bad Year) 2020 failed just as bad as the years prior. Waterflame released 10 songs in total, but none of them blew up in the slightest. He announced an album for the next year, however.

(Good Year) In 2021, Waterflame released 9 total songs, with similar success. However, one of the songs, -Octagon Force-, did perform a bit better because it was a sequel to another popular song of his, -Hexagon Force-. He also released his latest Album, called Vast.

In 2022, Waterflame has currently released 25 songs within this year. This was the year that Waterflame decided to experiment with different Music Genres, such as Rock music. He also has created his own podcast on Newgrounds within this year. This was coincidentally also when Waterflame had been composing music for more than 10 years.
